First of all - Belated congratulations to Todd and Jane for the new addition to their new home. Look forward to meeting Maarten when we arrive next month (can I call him a Kramlet?)

Second of all - I'm still looking for music suggestions. The near total lack of them from you, the indifferent silence into which my words are sent on electric currents to cascade into nothingness, is making me suspect that either A) people are hoping that I go mad re-listening to the 80's era Aerosmith that makes up the bulk of my CD collection or B) have better things to do with their time.

As the universe revolves around me and my needs, I highly doubt the latter, and so can only sadly conclude the former must be true.

Also - I'm serious about sending postcards to people who answer my various challenges here. I sent out a bunch a while ago for the six word story thing, they should have arrived by now, so those of you who doubt me need only ask around. I am a man of my (unread) word.

I will eventually get around to writing up a bit more about Jon's travels here, but I actually have some paid writing to get out of the way first. More on that later.

Mark, I've been listening through my entire music collection on my iPod for the last year and a half, collecting the best tracks for eventual use in situations like this. I've also been stealing newer music like mad to liven it up. It's not ready yet, however.
I have discovered during this research that Forbidden Dimension was a TERRIBLE band. Do you remember them? "Excuse My Demonic Laughter" or something? I remembered them being musically plain, but on repeated listening it became obvious that they sacrificed all songcraft to - presumably - staging.

Does it reveal me to be unforgivingly ignorant or just healthily normal if I confess that I have no recollection of a band called Forbidden Dimension?
Of course that might just be my mind protecting itself from traumatic memories...

Whoops! I meant unforgivably...

Travis! The Forbidden Dimension brings back memories! Mark - you owned this CD, and played it a lot back when we were together (between the Aerosmith, that is). I even recognize the song title mentioned. Crazy.

Of course! I remember now - hill-billy goth rockers. I briefly loved that CD. No idea what happened to it - I was actually trying to remember their name the other day, because I heard a bar band do a version of "In the Pines" which they also covered. Bought that in Montreal while visiting Travis and Todd and meeting Amynah for the very first time.

Sorry, I did promise song titles and have yet to deliver. Give these a try and let me know what you think:
-Casey's Song by City and Colour (Canadian content!)
-Going the Distance by Cake
-Your Heart is an Empty Room by Death Cab For Cutie
-What Sarah Said by Death Cab For Cutie (love the piano)
-The Seed by The Roots
