Prompted by a recent education reform in France that will boost the number of hours of weekly math instruction, Amynah tried to imagine a typical French math problem:

“If a farmer produces three tones of grapes, making 5,012 bottles of wine, which are then taxed at 20 percent, how long before his workers go on strike?”
